Likeness Misuse, Intellectual Property & Takedown
Material published here is published so that a buyer can evaluate an offer. It is not a free library. This page sets out what happens when someone takes it without a licence.
Rights in published material
A person retains all rights in the material they upload. In addition, they grant the platform a non-exclusive licence to host, transcode, watermark, index and display it for the purposes of operating the marketplace, protecting it against unauthorised use, and enforcing rights against third parties who take it without a licence.
That enforcement licence is the basis on which the platform can act in its own name alongside the person. It does not make the platform an owner of the person's identity and does not entitle the platform to license the material to anyone.
Unauthorised use
- —Scraping, bulk downloading, framing or mirroring profile media is prohibited and technically countered.
- —Preview media is watermarked and served at reduced resolution. Full-resolution material is released only after a licence is paid.
- —Automated access, headless browsing and circumvention of rate limits are breaches of these terms in their own right.
Detection and partnerships
The platform is building detection and monitoring capability for material that leaves it without a licence, and intends to work with specialist likeness-monitoring and content-provenance providers to do so. Where unauthorised use is identified, the platform will pursue notice-and-takedown, and where warranted, enforcement, jointly with the person.
Net recovery after costs is shared as set out in the Licence Framework. A person may always decline and act alone.
Reporting misuse
- —If you believe your likeness or voice appears on this platform without your consent, contact voce@voce.agency with enough detail to locate the profile. Material is suspended while the report is assessed.
- —If you believe licensed material is being used outside its scope, raise a dispute from the licence page. The recorded scope, declarations and audit trail are the evidence base.
- —If you hold rights in material someone has uploaded, send a takedown notice identifying the work, the material, your rights and your contact details.
